The nose gear of a Southwest Airlines flight from Nashville collapsed when the jet landed at New York's LaGuardia Airport early Monday evening, according to local news outlets.
There were conflicting reports about whether passengers aboard Flight 345 were evacuated after the Boeing 737 landed about 6 p.m.
WABC-TV reported that all had been evacuated and that at least three people suffered unspecified injuries. The station did not indicate whether they were hurt during the landing or evacuation.
But WNBC-TV reported that although the plane's emergency chutes had been deployed, the passengers remained on board.
Authorities closed the airport temporarily.
